With the Interior Ministry circular, last night two days of curfew were declared in 31 cities. During the ban, it was announced that bakeries and healthcare facilities would remain open, while only employees in some workplaces could go to work.

The announcement of the ban decision at 22:00 last night drew the opposition and many citizens. After the decision, when many people took to the streets and bought in bakeries and supermarkets, the social distance rule was not observed.

Speaking to Muharrem Sarıkaya of Habertürk, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu responded to the reactions as follows:

“Do you remember what time the countries that announced the ban decision took? The experience is ahead of us. If we explain it early, would it be better if we had gone to the markets as we saw in some countries? Remember how you were attacked from markets, to toilet paper, to food. Would that environment be much better or worse?
