WALL – 8 people received 5 times more vaccine doses due to an error made during the preparation of the new type of corona virus (Covid-19) vaccine for injection in a nursing home in Stralsund, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany.
Vorpommern-Rügen District Governor Stefan Kerth said that after the incident yesterday, 8 members of the nursing staff, 7 of whom are women, were sent home.
They showed flu-like symptoms
Kerth shared the information that 4 employees were later hospitalized for prevention, but 3 of them were discharged due to flu-like symptoms.
In the statement made by the district governorate of Vorpommern-Rügen, it was stated that in Phase 1 when the vaccine was tested, higher doses were tested on the subjects and no serious results were observed, and were reported by the manufacturer of BioNTech vaccines.
In the statement, it was noted that depending on the dose, local reactions and flu-like symptoms may occur at the injection site, but are generally mild, moderate and transient.
