The Iskenderun Prosecutor General’s Office announced in a written statement about the terrorist act that occurred earlier and was prevented by the security forces, and that a total of 5 people were detained in Istanbul, Şanlıurfa, Adıyaman and Diyarbakır provinces.
In the statement issued by the Attorney General’s Office, it was stated:
* In the confrontation that took place as a result of the arrest of two members of the separatist terrorist organization who went to the center of the Iskenderun district after seizing the vehicle of a citizen in the Payas district, a member of the terrorist organization died as a consequence The explosion on him and the other member of the separatist terrorist organization was rendered ineffective as a result of the confrontation that occurred at the place where he was hiding. To date, a total of five people believed to be linked to the incident have been detained in the provinces of Istanbul, Şanlıurfa, Adıyaman and Diyarbakır as part of the investigation launched by our Attorney General’s Office in relation to the incident.
* In addition to this, no evidence has been obtained that the persons who have been referred have any connection to the incident of the fire that broke out in the forest area in Denizciler, Sarıseki and Azganlık neighborhoods in İskenderun district on 10/27/2020.
