Russian Health Minister Mikail Muraşko stated that delivery of the corona virus vaccine called ‘Sputnik V’ will begin in September, and said its goal is to vaccinate 40 people. Muraşko also stated that vaccination studies will start in November or December.
According to the news from the Sputnik News Agency, Mihail Muraşko, who met with doctors working in the Irkutsk region in the extreme east of Russia, gave information about the stages of delivery and application of the Sputnik V vaccine.
Muraşko, “The first deliveries in the form of large batches will begin in September. Currently pre-registration observation groups are being formed, more than 2,500 people have already been selected and there will be a total of 40,000 people “ said.
Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko announced that mass vaccination for domestic risk groups will start in November or December.
Underlining that some more vaccines are in the registration stage, Muraşko noted that they will reach the highest production capacity in the period from October to December. Muraşko emphasized that vaccines will be delivered to health professionals and teachers first and that vaccination will be completely voluntary.
The Sputnik V vaccine was developed by the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology NF Gamaleya. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on August 11 that the first vaccine developed against the corona virus was registered, and thus Russia became the first country to register the corona virus vaccine.
The Russian Ministry of Health stated that the Sputnik V vaccine passed all the necessary tests and developed immunity against the virus. The ministry announced that the first batch of the vaccine was produced on Saturday, August 15.
