A 16-year-old girl who disappeared after leaving her mobile phone with a letter in Malatya was found dead in the Karakaya Dam lake.
The incident took place in the Mahmutlu district of the Yeşilyurt district. According to the information obtained, relatives who could not hear from the 16-year-old BK for a while reported the situation to the gendarmerie teams. The gendarmerie teams, which went to work following the notification, found a letter with a mobile phone that was considered to belong to the United Kingdom in the area of the Karakaya Dam lake. In assessing that BK may have entered the reservoir, the teams informed the team Underwater Search and Rescue Department of the Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department.
The underwater search and rescue teams that came to the scene reached the lifeless body of BK 20 meters from the shore as a result of the search that lasted approximately 1 hour. According to the first determinations of the gendarmerie teams, the investigation of the incident was initiated, which they considered suicide, while the body of BK, which was brought to shore by divers, was transferred to the forensic morgue.
