Trump urges Goodyear boycott, accuses company of banning MAGA hats

Goodyear shrugged back Wednesday via Trump via tweet.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday morning pleaded guilty to boycotting Goodyear following reports that the company was banning its campaign MAGA hats.

“DO NOT BUY GOODYEAR TIRES – They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS,” Trump said. “Get better tires for much less! (This is what the Radical Left Democrats are doing. Two can play the same game, and we need to start playing it now!).”

The tweet comes after reports that a Topeka, Kansas, Goodyear plant showed a slide during a training session that “Black Lives Matter” and LBGT pride clothing were “acceptable” as part of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company’s zero tolerance policy and “Blue Lives Matter “,” “All Lives Matter”, “MAGA Attire”, and other political material were “unacceptable”. ”

Goodyear responded to Trump on Twitter with a statement saying that “the visual in question was not created or disseminated by Goodyear corporate, nor was it part of a class for diversity training.”

“Yesterday, Goodyear became the focus of a conversation that made some misunderstandings about our policies and our business,” Goodyear tweeted. “Goodyear has strong support for both equality and law enforcement and will continue to do so.”

Ironically, the president’s expanded and armored limousine, nicknamed “The Beast”, has been adapted by Goodyear Tires. In a 2009 statement, Goodyear said it was “the exclusive band for the presidential limo and the standard band of the US Secret Service.”

Later Wednesday, at a White House news conference, Trump said he was “not happy” with the company he accused of “playing politics” and that he would be in favor of changing the tires on his presidential limousine.

“Yes,” Trump said. ‘We’ll see what happens. You will have a lot of people who do not want to buy that product anymore. They will buy it from a competitor. Also made in the US. ”

‘And the funny thing is the people who work for Goodyear, I can guarantee you, I research very well with all those great workers at Goodyear. And if they say you can not have Blue Lives Matter, you can not show Blue Line, you can not wear a MAGA hat, but you can have other things that are Marxist in nature – there is something wrong with the top of Goodyear. ”

Earlier, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany compared the “Black Lives Matter” movement to “Blue Lives Matter” and claimed that the latter was an “equity issue” and that police were “targeted because they were wearing the badge.”

“If you could wear a hat with Black Lives Matter, you would be able to wear a Blue Lives Matter one, especially if our cops are targeted like they were in Dallas in particular,” McEnany said.

Also, Trump fell just last month against ‘canceling’ culture after decline following his posting of Goya food on his official social media accounts.

“One of their political weapons is to destroy culture,” Trump said on July 3. “People are expelled from their jobs, disgraced dissenters & demand total submission from anyone who disagrees. This is the very definition of totalitarianism.”

Goodyear is an American company based in Akron, Ohio, and most of its major competitors are based in Europe or Asia. The company currently employs 62,000 people according to its most recent quarterly report and supports a lot of employment for blue collars and “forgotten men and women” in America that Trump claims to represent.

This tweet also comes because Trump’s support in Ohio has soured somewhat making it a resurgence in the 2020 election.
