Ultimately, copyright really matters: Linkin Park has had a video of the Trump campaign removed from Twitter because it features one of his songs. The edge Reports that the video includes images of Trump and audio of his inauguration speech on the 2001 single by the band “In The End”. The video was shared by White House deputy chief of staff for communications Dan Scavino on Friday and then received the presidential retweet on Saturday. Apparently, this is when the band became aware of its unapproved inclusion in the video and asked Twitter to remove the content. “For our copyright policy, we respond to valid copyright complaints sent to us by the copyright owner or his authorized representative, “a Twitter spokesperson reported. The edge.

Scavino’s original tweet remains in his feed, albeit now with a fun little Twi messagetter instead of the video.

This, of course, is not the first time that Twitter has virtually scolded Trump, nor the first time that a musician has refused to associate with the president’s reelection campaign. Neil Young made headlines recently after “Rockin ‘In The Free World” and “Like A Hurricane” during the event that Trump held at Mount Rushmore over the weekend of July 4. “I stand in solidarity with the Sioux of Lakota and this is NOT okay with me,” Young tweeted after the event, expressing support for the tribe on whose land Mt. Rushmore was built.

Trump has spoken about the recent actions of Twitters. In May, the social media site finally deemed it necessary include disclaimers on Trump’s misinformation. The president responded as you might imagine, claiming that Twitter was “interfering” in the election and “stifling the FREE SPEECH”, despite the fact that his frightening tweet about the mail-in election fraud was (and still is) sitting there in its original form.

Anyway, you probably didn’t think you would read a story about Linkin Park today, but it’s 2020, anything is possible.
