Trump received the 2021 Nobel Prize from the Finnish right-wing poll

Donald Trump did not win the Nobel Prize this year – but has already been nominated for one in 2021, thanks to a right-wing Finnish politician who cited the president’s “efforts to end the era of endless war.”

Following Trump’s ouster from this year’s honors, Laura Hathasari of Finland, a member of the European Parliament and a member of the far-right Finns Party, will nominate the president for the 2021 Peace Prize.

Trump’s nomination “recognizes efforts to end the era of endless wars, build peace by encouraging conflicting parties for dialogue and negotiation, as well as their country’s internal harmony and stability,” Hutasari wrote in a letter to the Nobel Committee on Friday.

Anyone can be nominated for an award as long as they meet certain basic criteria.

Huhatsari was credited with managing to complete his term without reducing the number of troops in the Middle East and without rewarding the U.S. in other major international conflicts.

Trump received three nominations for the 2020 Peace Prize.

The award was eventually given to the World Food Program, a United Nations branch dedicated to fighting hunger and food insecurity.
