Bydance, the Chinese company that owns Ticket OK, has its U.S. The operations are facing a Sept. 15 deadline to sell or they have been shut down by the Trump administration. On Thursday evening, President Trump told reporters that the deadline would not be pushed back.

“We will either close the ticket in this country for security reasons, or it will be sold,” Trump said before the flight to Michigan. “I’m not extending the deadline. The number is September 15. There will be no extension of the ticket ok deadline.”

Reports suggest that both MicroSt. Has fur offers for operations. The problem is that companies in the U.S. And will not be able to satisfy the conflicting demands of the Chinese government.

In early August, Trump declared Trump a national security threat because of the possibility of the Chinese government collecting data on American users and launching a disinformation campaign in the United States. Trump claimed that the International Emergency Economic Power Act empowers the president to shut down an app like Ticket OK if it threatens national security.

14 August Gust’s subsequent order blocked the acquisition of Bytescens’ Musical.Pli, 2017, a platform that later developed into Ticket OK. The president has the power to block international mergers that raise national security concerns, and some experts see this as a strong legal basis for shutting down the service.

Byte ance Nase fielded offers from both Microsoft .ft and Oracle and was close to choosing one of them when the Chinese government intervened. In late August, Beijing announced new export control regulations that restrict the export of artificial intelligence software without government approval.

Ticket ok has sophisticated video recommendation algorithms that will probably go beyond those rules. So the new rules mean that any sale will have to be approved by the Chinese government – which would not like to take anyone’s control over China’s most popular global technology platform in the US.

There are fears that the U.S. And the contradictory demands of the Chinese government will not leave room for a deal with Micro .ft, Oracle or anyone else for tickets. In that case, BitDance would have to pay for its U.S. May be forced to shut down operations.

But it is not clear when the ban will actually take effect. Trump has told reporters that Bytens needs to make a deal by Sept. 15. But Trump’s written executive order was given a different deadline: around September 20 for the first executive order and in mid-November for the second. This deadline was also pushed back by the courts because they take into account Bitdance’s arguments that the order itself is illegal.
