Trump claims that “deep state” will slow down the vaccine for coronavirus until after elections

Donald Trump shrugged off a baseless conspiracy theory that the “deep state” delayed a vaccine for coronavirus until after the election early on Twitter on Saturday.

“The deep state, or whatever, at the FDA makes it very difficult for drug companies to get people to test the vaccines and therapeutics,” he wrote.

‘Of course, they hope to delay the response until after November 3. Must focus on speed, and saving lives! ”

The head of the Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Stephen Hahn, was nominated by Mr. Trump for the role in 2019.

Human subjects for a Covid-19 vaccine are currently being held around the world. But there are still many aspects that scientists do not fully understand about the virus, which has killed some 800,000 people worldwide.

Mr. Trump followed up his tweet with another referring to the FDA’s decision to issue emergency authorization of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine for the treatment of Covid-19, proving that he is “probably effective” in treating the coronavirus.

“Many doctors and studies disagree!” he said, without providing evidence.

Dr Anthony Fauci, the best doctor of infectious disease and a member of the White House coronavirus task force, said he expects a safe vaccine to be ready by the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021.

Mr. Trump claimed earlier in August that a fax would possibly be ready by the U.S. presidential election, if “just around that time.”

This week, Dr Fauci warned against raging against the process, following Russian claims that they had already produced a safe vaccine.

‘We have to be careful if you hear from Russia or China or anywhere that they have a vaccine that they know works. “They can have a product that they are willing to take the risk of giving it to people without necessarily showing even that it is as effective as it is safe,” said Dr. Fauci.

The Trump administration has pre-ordered hundreds of millions of doses from companies that develop vaccines, which are distributed free of charge.

The death toll from the coronavirus in the US went through 173,000 this week, while total cases surpassed 5.5 million.

While cases have gone down nationwide in recent weeks, deaths have not. Most of the deaths occur in Arizona, Florida, California and Texas.
