Trump campaign to ‘strongly’ wear face masks at upcoming New Hampshire rally

President Trump’s reelection campaign will provide attendees with facial masks, which they will be “strongly encouraged” to wear, at his next rally.

The President’s team emailed their supporters on Sunday announcing that their next rally will take place outdoors in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, at Portsmouth International Airport on Saturday, July 11. The campaign noted that “there will be wide access to hand sanitizer and all attendees will receive a face mask that they are recommended to wear.”

“President Trump’s record accomplishments in record times have improved the lives of all Americans. He rebuilt, restored, and renewed our great nation once, and he will do it again,” said Hogan Gidley, Trump 2020 national press secretary. a sentence. “We hope that so many freedom-loving patriots come to the rally and celebrate the United States, the largest country in the history of the world.”

Trump held his first rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, last month after stopping such events during the height of the coronavirus pandemic. Masks and hand sanitizer were provided to event attendees. However, the president recommended that people “do what they want” in terms of wearing the masks.

Several employees of the Trump campaign tested positive for the coronavirus before and after the event. Dozens of Secret Service members who worked at the rally reportedly had to be quarantined after the rally, and at least one of them is believed to have contracted the virus.

The president also attended an event on Friday to celebrate Independence Day on Mount Rushmore, where attendees were not encouraged to socially distance or wear masks.

After seeing a decline, COVID-19 cases have recently skyrocketed in several southern states, including Florida, Texas, Arizona and California, sparking renewed concern to mitigate the spread. So far, the United States has recorded more than 2.8 million coronavirus cases and more than 129,000 related deaths.
