You can also expect some important updates for the World Edge map. An area near The Dome that was once a lava field will become the Launch Site, complete with an enormous rocket ship. Drill Site is no more, and a location called Countdown takes its place. Staging, meanwhile, replaces a small town east of Harvester.

A new mechanic will be available at each of these locations. You can activate large blast walls to defend the area against your opponents. There are also some other map changes. The train is no more and parts of it are scattered across the tracks. Respawn says players can enable more use of the tunnels through the tracks.

Intriguing, the trailer closes with founder Kuben Blisk of Apex Games and claims that “something big is on the horizon” next to a clear shot from the rocket ship. That, along with hints from Respawn that Hammond Industries is at the “something sloppy”, suggests that some sort of significant change is underway. It may just be a nod to the upcoming cross-play update, but maybe we’ll learn more as season six of the Battle Royale begins on August 18th.
