Top doctor says U.S. Death is prevented by coronavirus

The sad part about the thousands of Americans who will die next week from a coronavirus epidemic is that, according to one health expert, they don’t have to come.

The Dean of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College College of Medicine, Dr. “Every death we’re talking about this afternoon is preventable,” Peter Hotez told CNN on Thursday. “This is not going to happen.

“We have the ability to prevent these deaths, to vaccinate, to keep masks, to keep social distance. We each have to stay there for a few more weeks.”

As of Thursday afternoon, more than 328,000 people in the United States have died from Covid-19, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The seven-day average of deaths in 22 states is rising compared to the seven-day average.

Experts fear that there will be a second surge in leave-gathering cases, followed by another increase in hospital admissions and then another increase in deaths.

“We can still save lives,” Hotez said. “No one is going to lose their life in the next few weeks and months. However, it is a difficult message to overcome.”

Crowd immunity will not come for months, experts say

CNN Medical Analyst Dr. The administration of the Covid-19 vaccine is “surprising news,” said Liana Wayne, but people need to be aware that it will be some time before everyone is protected.

“I think there’s a false sense of security that people are thinking, ‘Well, the vaccine is here,'” he said. “And despite that surprising news, we also know it will take some time.”

“It will take us a year or more to get animal husbandry immunity in this country,” he said. “In the meantime we still really have to double up and keep the mask, the physical distance, to avoid indoor assembling.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, a large enough part of the community becomes immune when someone becomes immune.

Dr. Anthony Fawcett estimated that 7080-8585% of the population needed to be vaccinated against the novel coronavirus in order to achieve herd immunity.

“This is a definite estimate,” Fawcett said. “I don’t want any bankers to come on this. This is all speculation.”

Many factors lead to speculation as to what percentage of the population needs to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity, including the rate of spread of the virus and the effectiveness of the vaccine.

The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are about 95% effective against coronavirus.

The death toll is expected to reach 567,000 by April

More than 1 million people have received the first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine, but an impressive coronavirus model projects that the death toll in the U.S. will rise to more than half a million by April 1, reaching a peak of 567,000 by April 1.

A recent report by the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation in Washington notes that the number could rise to 731,000 by April 1 if states simplify commands intended to contain novel coronaviruses.

But the estimated vaccine rollout could save more than 33,000 lives, and 4545,000 people could be saved if the rollout happened more quickly, IHME said.

Across the country, the use of masks has increased to 74%, IHME said. If it is increased to 95%, 49,000 fewer deaths could occur by April 1.

The latest IHME model comes as the USA puts its hopes in the rollout of its latest official Covid-19 vaccine. U.S. Department of Disease Control and Prevention According to data from the Centers, Operation Warp Speed delivered about 9.5 million doses early Wednesday and delivered at least 1 million doses.

“Cavid-1 cases are on the rise across the country. This achievement comes at a crucial time and will help protect those on the front lines – our health care providers, Cavid-1 patients treat patients – as well as our most sensitive: Dr. Robert Redfield, Director of Elder CDC, said the individuals who helped in the accommodation and accommodation facilities in the nursing homes.

Vaccination may not come too soon in California, which became the first state to register 2 million coronavirus cases by late Wednesday – less than six weeks after the state reported 1 million cases on November 12 – given the state’s population of 39.5 million more than a handful of countries. 1 in 1 people tested positive for the virus.

The state’s 7-day positivity rate is now 12.6%, down slightly from the previous week. However, Covid-19 in 55 of California’s 58 counties has remained at the most restricted purple level of the open system again, resulting in the closure of many unavoidable indoor business operations.

The government’s Gavin News has cited recent additional reasons why people relax in their physical distance efforts and get together with people outside their home, especially during the holidays.

Since the onset of the epidemic, a total of 23,558 California people have died due to complications of the disease.

‘We See the End’

Overall, the U.S. There were 228,131 new cases of coronavirus and 3,359 new deaths on Wednesday, the third highest number of deaths in a single day. That U.S. So the catastrophe is “normal”, with an average of about 555,000 new cases and more than 7,770 new deaths every day in the past week.

A record number of cases were reported Thursday in several states, including Arkansas and Georgia. Hospitals in Arizona and Mississippi each have the highest number of Covid-19 patients ever.

Los Angeles County, home to 10 million people, announced 148 deaths, a one-day record.

The medical director of the intensive care unit at Jackson South Medical Center in Miami, Dr. Andrew Pestusky thanked the increase in cases at his hospital.

“And with the upcoming holidays, we’re very scared about what we’ll see,” he told CNN’s Erica Hill.

But with the vaccine, “our vision is over,” Pestusky said.

The government has said it plans to distribute the first 20 million doses of Pfizer-Bioentech and Moderna vaccines next week, shortly after its original plan.

“It’s been a big week delivering the vaccine,” General Gustav Parna, chief operating officer of Operation Worm Speed, told reporters on Wednesday. “More than 7,800 deliveries by the end of tomorrow, as we deliver 7.9 million doses of the vaccine allocated for this week across the country – indeed a tremendous feat.”

About 15.5 million doses of the vaccine have been allocated and another 4.5 to 5 million will be allocated in the second week, Parna said.

“We will complete that delivery in the first week of January,” he said.

In addition, health care workers have discovered that the Pfizer vaccine, a stable solution that is mixed with saline before being given to people, can get more than the five doses initially thought.

As such, additional supplies are being arranged to accommodate the sixth dose to the ancillary kit sent with the vaccine, Parna said.

“We have made changes to our contract and our construction of the kits … we will provide more capacity going forward,” Parna said on Wednesday.

He noted that the kit already had some “extra capacity” built in, and that the vaccine is currently administered in most hospitals “where they have access to syringes and needles accordingly.”

“So, the availability of syringes and needles and our ability to keep these kits together and continue the simultaneous distribution of the kit with the vaccine feels very comfortable,” he said.
