Samsung’s Galaxy S10 line may have launched in March 2019, but the Galaxy S10, S10 Plus and S10E are still available and more affordable than ever. It may be tempting to get the newest Galaxy S20But there isn’t much the S20 can do that the S10 can’t do.

After unpacking your shiny new phone, there is a lot to learn about the device. To start, everyone runs Android 10 with Samsung’s latest One UI custom skin, combining Google’s enhancements with Samsung’s. The update adds gesture-based navigation and better privacy controls, but there is much more to learn.

Below are 10 tips and tricks we’ve created to help you get the most out of your Galaxy S10 phone.

1. Save your eyes and battery with night mode

Safe night mode is nice to watch.

Take advantage of the dedicated night mode on the Galaxy S10 to help ease the strain on your eyes and save battery power.

Night mode turns system applications and other interface areas black, making it easy to see your phone’s screen at night or in low-light environments. Night mode can be enabled in Configurations > Monitor > Night mode. You can activate it at any time or create a schedule for the device to automatically enable night mode based on your location.

2. Change this setting … trust me

3. That new message can wait

You can postpone alerts, removing them from the notification screen for a specified period of time by pausing them. Slowly swipe in any direction in an alert until you see a settings icon and a bell. Ring the bell, then select the amount of time you want to postpone the alert.

Snoozing alerts is much like snoozing the alarm in the morning.

4. Force-closing applications

The S10’s application switching interface has been modified, with the application cards positioned horizontally. Tap the app switch button to see recently used apps. Force close an app by swiping up on the preview. Unlike iOS, you can’t swipe multiple apps at the same time. Fortunately, there is a Close all button at the bottom of the screen.

5. Use two apps at the same time

To use more than one application at a time, navigate to the multitasking view and find one of the applications you want to use in split screen mode. Tap the app icon, then select Open in split screen view.

The first app will be minimized at the top of the screen until you launch the second app you want to use.

6. See you later, Bixby

Oh did you hear The Bixby button on the side of the S10 can be used to open something different than Bixby. This does not mean that you completely abandon Bixby, but at least you can take advantage of the button.

7. Turn your phone into a wireless charging pad

The Galaxy S10 can wirelessly charge another device through a feature called Wireless PowerShare. To turn your S10 into a wireless charging pad, open the Quick settings panel and play Wireless PowerShare. Just make sure your phone has more than 30 percent of its remaining battery.

8. Digital wellness controls the use of your device

Google’s Digital Wellbeing initiative has expanded beyond the Pixel of Android makers ($ 125 on Amazon) The telephones. Open the Configurations application and select Digital wellness from the list to enable and customize the statistics tracker. 10. Use more than one account with messaging applications

For those who have to manage a personal and business account in an app like Snapchat or Facebook, they can use the Dual Messenger feature of the S10. Open Configurations > Advanced features > Dual messengerand then select the application for which you want to enable the function. After answering a few prompts, you will have a second install of the app that you can use.
