Tony Hussey, former chief executive of Zappos, who brought fortune to downtown Las Vegas and became the face of his resurrection, died Friday.
He was 46 years old.
Meghan Fazio, a spokeswoman for Hsih’s side venture DTP companies, confirmed Hsih’s death in an email on Friday night. She did not give a cause of death.

“Tony played such an integral part in helping us build our prosperous Zappos business today, as well as his passion to help support and run our company culture,” Deshpande wrote.
He also said in an email that the company would look for ways to celebrate Hussein’s life in the coming days.
A Zeppos spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday night.
Las Vegas Mayor Caroline Goodman called Hussein’s death a “tragic loss.”
“Tony meant a lot to Las Vegas, always dreaming, working to inspire and leading others to create a new vision tomorrow. Our prayers and sympathy are with his family, “he said.
Gov. Steve Sisolak tweeted Friday night that Hsieh played a key role in “helping change” downtown Las Vegas.
Myron Martin, president and CEO of the Smith Center for Premature Arts, said Hsieh was a “friend and loyal supporter” of the downtown venue.

Hussey moved Zappos from Henderson to Old Las Vegas City Hall in 2013.
