Tiger Woods doesn’t want to give his masters a green jacket yet

U Gusta, Ga. – Tiger Woods will defend his Masters title with a 19-month wait. On Thursday, he had to wait another three hours due to weather delays, which would not last long after the start of the game in the first round at Augusta National.

Tiger Woods will begin defending his Masters title at 10:55 a.m., 3 hours after his original tea time.

With a few people around him instead of thousands, who usually fill this space and watch his every move and Woods looked like the man he was in April 2019 and the golf has not been like that since he returned from his covid-19 interval.

Woods, who has not finished more than a T-37 after playing in six games, came back from a break, opening with 68. Woods became the first boogie-free Woods since the 2009 PGA Championship 2009. Main, 105 round stretch. It’s not the first time boogie free to open masters.

“There really was nothing, looking back, that I could do better,” Woods said.

Here’s how it happened:

No. 10: Par-4, 495 yards

Tiger Woods could start his Masters title defense, with an outrageous second shot in the 10th hole from the middle of the fairway – a mud ball. But he hits a bright pitch on a difficult front pin and defends the opening cross. At number 10, take exactly the way you can get it.

He probably had to work harder than he liked, but Tiger Woods turns into a birdie in the par-5 15. His round is still young, but this is the only way he would have pulled it off before his day started. Make a pars as early as possible, take advantage of par 5, avoid dumb mistakes.

It wasn’t a boogie, but it would seem. After a 350 yard drive in the par 5 second hole, Tiger Woods fails to make a birdie after a loose second shot. Again, that’s okay, but after that tea ball, you’re thinking birdie – or better.

There are many ways to play Augusta Gusta National. Bryson de Chembu and John Rehme let him rip on the third hole; Tiger Woods hit an iron from the tee. The equivalent of the woods settles after a 20-foot edge burns on its surface. There is still no fault on the card, but his arch is hiding the enemy (No. 5).

The first appearance of an angry tiger. After a good drive and solid layout on the par-5 eighth hole, it kills the terrible wedge in the green and resists the request to throw the club. Instead of giving a good look at the birdie, he has to settle in a two-fold part from 40 feet. It’s two pieces on first-nine par 5s that won’t fit well with it.
