Thor character arc in the MCU wasn’t really that good, according to fans

When the dust settled at the end of Avengers EndgameThor was one of the few original Avengers left standing. Iron Man and Black Widow were sacrificed, and Captain America vanished in retirement. The Hulk was still around, as was Hawkeye, but it could be argued that Thor was in the worst place of all.

Some fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe consider him pitiful, considering how strong Thor is supposed to be. At the same time, Thor meets the original Avenger with the most promising future in the movies.

Here’s a very, very short version of what happened to Thor in the MCU. In his first movie, released in 2011, he comes to earth, as his father banished him for his arrogance. He falls in love with scientist Jane Foster and foils a funky plot for his half-brother Loki.

Loki returns for more mischief in The Avengers, leading an army of alien invasion. Of course, the Avengers are victorious, and Loki faces justice for his crime.

Thor ends up recruiting Loki’s help to fight a new threat in Thor: The Dark World, allowing the brothers to form a very awkward truce, but then Thor and Jane Foster parted ways. In RagnarokThor returns to Asgard again to deal with the threat of Hela, and although he is ultimately victorious, Asgard is destroyed and Thor and his compatriots become refugees.

Thor returns to earth in great style to Avengers: Infinity War and it seems to win Thanos’ hand, who is close to winning the victory over the Avengers. Famously, Thor cannot go through Thanos’ head, and Thanos executes his plugin. In Final game, Thor blames himself for the defeat and falls apart emotionally, but he gets it back enough that he and the other Avengers defeat Thanos forever.

Meanwhile, Thor leaves with his new companions, the Guardians of the Galaxy, with whom he appears to be very well paired.

As dramatic as the Thor story has been, it has left some fans wanting. A Reddit fan regrets that Thor really only got what he deserved for a movie, and wrote: “Who else did you find sad that it was literally ENDGAME and Thor was not at his best for the final showdown of the last 22? Movies? … (Final game) showed us a Thor at the end of the game that weakened, out of practice, fat and emotionally shattered, to the point that he cannot beat a Thanos gloveless glove and even Captain America who has no previous experience with Mjolnir put on a shot far better fight. “

Other fans disagreed, because it showed that Thor had the maturity to name Valkyrie as the new leader of Asgard and join the Guardians. Despite the final victory, he acknowledges that he himself is not in the best place, but his own recognition of that fact shows maturity that he might not have had in the past.

Another fan said, “Final game Thor I was its best … Throughout Final game We see him reconcile. Accept what needs to be done. Learn that you can correct your mistakes. She says goodbye to her mother. He learns that he is still worthy of Mjolnir. See the sun be shine on him again. With clarity, focus and transparency. F****** Will he become the God of Thunder in the end, fully on and ready to roll?

At least Thor has future movies

Thor has an advantage over some of his fellow Avengers, as he is the only one of the originals who is still alive and who has an upcoming movie. Hawkeye is supposed to have a series at Disney, while Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk could appear in the upcoming He-Hulk series.

True, Black Widow will get his movie, but he had to die first. Thor is the only original Avenger with a clear future. He has a movie in sight.

That would be Thor: love and thunder, in which he will deal with passing his hammer to a returning Jane Foster, so that she can become a new Thor. That movie has the potential to deal with some serious problems, because in the comics, Jane Foster became Thor after being diagnosed with cancer. Love and thunder It will be released in theaters in February 2022.
