- Google has discontinued the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.
- The Pixel 4 series is the only range of smartphones that it sells now.
- You can still buy the Pixel 3a series from outside vendors.
The 2019 Google mid-range smartphones have completed their successful run and are now being grazed. The company has confirmed that it is discontinuing Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. The duo will no longer be available on the Google Store, but will continue to be sold through third-party platforms while supplies last.
In a statement to Android PoliceA Google spokesperson said: “The Google Store has sold through its inventory and completed Pixel 3a sales. For people who are still interested in purchasing Pixel 3a, the product is available from some partners while supplies last.”
The statement came after the official Google Store listing for the Pixel 3a series began showing the phones’ status as “Not Available.” Since then it has changed to “Out of Stock”, making it clear that Google is not parting with more affordable pixel units.
Google Pixel 3a discontinued: what next?
The discontinuation of the Pixel 3a series marks the end of the entire Pixel 3 line. The flagship Pixel 3 and 3XL were discontinued in March this year. So currently, the only Google smartphones at stake are Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. We hope that the removal of the Pixel 3a line will signal the imminent arrival of the highly anticipated Pixel 4a. However, no one seems to have any idea when Google will finally remove the caps from that one.
The Pixel 4a has been delayed for many months, and rumors predict that Google could only launch it in October alongside the Pixel 5 series.
