The world’s first phone with an under-display camera is perhaps not a flagship


ZTE has already confirmed that it is prepping to launch the world’s first smartphone with a camera under the display. It could come with ZTE Axon 20 5G moniker. Now, the device has appeared on the Chinese listing site TENAA, and revealed its specs. According to the report, the Axon 20 5G would not be a flagship device.

Listed as the ZTE A2121, the handset has a 6.92-inch OLED display with a 2460 x 1080 resolution. It is powered by a 2.4 GHz octa-core processor. For reference, flagship chipsets like Snapdragon 865 and 865 Plus clock at 2.84 GHz and 3.1 GHz respectively. The SoC under the hood of ZTE Axon 20 5G could be the Snapdragon 765G.

The phone is reported to come in three RAM and storage variants: 6GB, 8GB, as 12GB RAM and 64GB, 128GB, as 256GB. Notably, there will be room for expandable storage. It is equipped with a quad rear camera setting, which includes a 64MP primary sensor + an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens + a 2MP depth sensor + a 2MP macro camera. The selfie shooter below display could be 32MP.

The Axon 20 5G will pack a 4,120mAh battery with fast charging support. Furthermore, it will run Android 10.. TENAA also confirms the presence of a fingerprint scanner below the display. ZTE is yet to announce a launch date for the phone.
