The White House party on July 4 scoffed after the video of empty chairs, the cover band goes viral

The White House has to deal with another embarrassing viral clip. The executive branch had already faced a backlash for throwing a big party for July 4, and now it appears the turnout was not what they expected. While the party was broadcasting live, footage emerged from the Army band playing a version of “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars. When the singer turned the microphone around to join the crowd, a strip of empty chairs is shown.

While one would assume this was due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic encouraging attendees to social distance, the organizers had chairs in a decent separate space. They were still empty, making the barely attended event seem even more embarrassing. Regardless, the comments soon started coming in, unsurprisingly.

While some mocked the leader of the Army gang, others took his defense, noting that he was just doing his job. Most chose to target the Trump administration for the mistake of a celebration. Several reminded other Twitter users that the Obama administration had Bruno Mars himself there at the July 4, 2015 party. Scroll down to see some of the reactions to the viral footage.
