The Walking Dead Creator offers update on Rick Grimes movie

On this weekend’s Skybound Xpo virtual panel, Skybound: Past, Present, and Future, Walking Dead co-founder and creator Robert Kirkman gave fans an update on the Rick Grimes sequel, which will follow Andrew’s character. “There are tons of things going on behind the scenes,” said Kirkman. “I don’t want anyone to think that we are waiting for this pandemic to end.”

“I would say that, in any case, the pandemic will improve many movies,” he added. “I think movie boss Rick Grimes is among them, just because we’re having so much more time to cook this up and make sure it’s perfect.”

“But when things calm down, they’re going to hear a lot more about this movie.”

The end of Season 10 of The Walking Dead was never aired, due to the pandemic that interrupted the post-production work necessary to complete the episode, leaving fans stranded on the precipice of a brutal war with Beta and his horde of walkers for months.

Also delayed due to COVID-19 is The Walking Dead: World Beyond, the franchise’s second official spin-off, which will premiere on April 12.
