The unmasked locations of Disney’s Animal Kingdom “Relaxation Zone” are revealed.

As we get closer to the official reopening of Walt Disney World theme parks, starting with cast member previews tomorrow and pass holders’ annual previews starting Thursday, new details emerge about various logistics components, as relaxation areas for guests to remove their face masks. With the cast members already training for the reopening, we now have an idea of where these relaxation zones will be located within the Magic Kingdom, as well as Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Pizzafari, normally a restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will now welcome guests as an air-conditioned indoor space for guests to remove their masks while they are socially estranged.

While facial masks will be strictly enforced throughout the park and on every land, you can visit the following places for a maskless break at Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

  • Landing in the interior of the country (Asia, across from UP! A Great Bird Adventure)
  • Pizzafari (Island of Discovery)

Within these designated spaces, guests can remove their masks and enjoy downtime while being 10 feet away from other parts of the relaxation area.

Please note that face masks will be strictly applied everywhere outside of these areas. Guests who do not wear the required face mask will be asked to put on or leave. Throughout the park, a safety round will be played continuously to remind guests to wear masks and wash their hands.

Like Universal Orlando Resort’s U-shaped seating areas, these relaxation areas were initially announced as part of Walt Disney World’s reopening proposal. Relaxation zones are expected to be available in all parks. Other locations include Tomorrowland Terrace at Magic Kingdom, and within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

We expect more locations to be revealed as the week progresses. Are you looking forward to taking a break in these designated “no mask” areas? Let us know in the comments.
