The “AstroWorld” rapper teamed up with McDonald’s this month for 6 “Travis Scott Meals,” which matched Scott’s McDonald’s order – a quarter pounder with cheese, medium fries with BBQ sauce, and a sprite with extra ice.
To celebrate the success of the pair, naturally, there are merchandise items and lots of them.
Go to Scott’s site and you’ll find no less than 24 graphic t-shirts with McDonald’s clip art in the early 2000’s, including a shirt that honors the $ 1 McDonald’s apple pal pie – Scott’s “always a thing for dessert.”
(Note for Unrestrained – you’ll see the words “Cactus Jack” all over the site. That’s Scott’s record label name and nickname; his legal name is Jack Webster.)
For a more subtle make-up, there is $ 300 dark-wash denim embroidered on the left side pocket with golden arches. Scott didn’t skimp on home decor either: a rapper’s McDonald’s order, a 10-pack of Cactus Jack McDonald’s Styrofoam Cup, or an uncomfortably real chicken nugget with a body pillow that will run you $ 90.
Scott’s social media presence is relatively muted, but more recently he
Tweeted a photo of himself Serve a McDonald’s meal (in a mask and a shiny silver chain) to celebrate the collaboration. In a statement by McDonald’s, Scott said he “couldn’t be more excited” to bring “his two and the world’s iconic worlds” together.
The partnership with Scott has given McDonald’s much-needed momentum in its second-quarter earnings report released in July, which saw a 30% increase in total sales tanks compared to a year earlier. McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempzinsky hastened the disappointing report on the epidemic.
The “Travis Scott Meal” promotion began on Tuesday and ends on October 4th. A limited edition merchant – it includes a fictional chicken knot pillow – will probably sell that before.
