The system releases the first new music in 15 years

System a Down is back with new music, releasing two new tracks “Protect the Land” and “Genocidal Humanoid Eids” which can be heard in the following players.

Unable to reach a common ground on the new album during sessions a few years ago, the group teamed up to record two new tracks to address the current war in Artesakh, which is largely affecting the Armenian community.

In his statement on the matter, the band explains:

We introduced new music for the first time in 15 years as System A F a Down. The time to do this is now, together, something important to say to all four of us as a unified voice. The songs “Protect the Songs” and “Genocide Humanoids” are both songs waging a fierce and serious war on our arts and cultural homeland of Armenia.

We are proud to share these songs with you and hope you enjoy listening to them. Next, we encourage you to read on to learn more about their origins and once you do, hopefully you will be inspired to talk about the horrific injustices and human rights violations that will now occur there. Most importantly and urgently, we would urge you to make small or large donations to help those affected by the rising tide of crimes against humanity.

In return, you will receive downloads of these two new songs and the feeling that you are really making a difference. These funds will be used to provide critical and much-needed assistance and basic supplies to those affected by these heinous acts.

On September 27, the combined forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey (along with ISIS terrorists from Syria) attacked the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, which we call Artax as the people of Armenia. Over the past month, young and old citizens have been awakened day and night by the horrific locations and sounds of rocket attacks, falling bombs, missiles, drones and terrorist attacks. They sought refuge in temporary shelters, trying to avoid illegal cluster bombings raining down on their streets and homes, hospitals and places of worship. Their attackers have set up their forests and burned the endangered wildlife using white phosphorus, another prohibited weapon.

And why?

Because 30 years ago in 1988, the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh (then an independent oblast in the USSR) were fed up with their behavior as second-class citizens and demanded that Azerbaijan declare their due independence from the Soviet Socialist Republic. Decided whose boundaries were absorbed in their own way. Eventually a war of self-determination was started by the Armenians in Karabakh against Azerbaijan, which ended in a ceasefire in 1994. The Armenians retained control of their ancestral homeland and maintained their independence to this day. Our people have lived there for millennia, and for most of the families there, it is the only home they and their ancestors and mothers have known. They just want to live in peace for centuries.

Aliyev’s current corrupt regime in Azerbaijan and Erdogan in Turkey is now committing acts of genocide with the liberation of humanity and wildlife in order to achieve not only these lands, but also its own goal. They are banking on the world, getting too distracted to carry out their atrocities due to cowardice, elections and civil unrest. They have bankroll, resources and huge public relations companies have been recruited to spin the truth and hide the unbearable motive of their genocide. This is not the time to turn a blind eye.

There is an urgent need for global citizens to urge their respective governments not only to condemn the actions of these crooked dictators, but also to urge world leaders to work urgently to bring peace to the region and recognize the arts as an independent nation.

We realize that for many of you, there are more convenient ways for you to listen to music, so please consider the opportunity to download these songs as more than any other charity. Think of the list price of downloads as a minimum donation, and if you have the capacity and you can be more generous with your donations, each member of the System of a Down will be more grateful for your philanthropy. The initiative will be donated to the Band Royalty Armenia Fund, a US-based charity. Is a charitable organization based in Artzakh and helps people in Armenia to provide the basic necessities for their basic needs.

Music and lyrics speak for themselves. We need you to speak for Artasakh.

Peace,

Deron, Shavo, John and Serge

“Please consider the opportunity to download these songs as a work of charity, regardless of how you choose to listen to them today, tomorrow and for years to come,” the band said.

The group has also released a new video for “Land Protect Land” directed by Era Soudjian and Shavo Oddjian which can be seen below the lyrics of the song.

“Protect the land” song

The big gun tells you what your life is worth
What do we deserve before the end of the world?
If they will try to push you away
Will you stop
And take a stand
Do you want to live with a gun in hand?
They protect the land
They protect the land

Who protect the land
Who protect the land
Who protect

Man’s enemy is his own decay
If they are evil now they will be evil
They will try to push you away
Do you live and take a stand?
Do you want to live with a gun in hand?
They protect the land
They protect the land
They protect the land

Our history and the victories and legacies we send
From scavengers and invaders who protect the land
Who protect the land
Who protect
Who protect the land
Who protect

Some were forced into foreign lands
Some lay dead on the sand
Do you want to stay and take command?
Would you stay with a gun in hand (with a gun in hand)?
They protect the land
They protect the land
They protect the land

Our history and the victories and legacies we send
Scavengers and invaders who protect the land
Our history and the victories and legacies we send
Who protect from scavengers and invaders
Who protect the land
Who protect the land
Who protect
Who protect the land
Who protect
