Netflix fans The community are still very much after Netflix announced that the show would not get a second season as originally planned. Two of the show’s stars, Kathryn Newton and Gideon Adlon, took to Instagram to talk about the situation.

The community follows a group of teenagers who are mysteriously transported to a facsimile of their rich city of New England, without trace of their parents. While struggling to figure out what happened to them and how to get home, they need to put order and form alliances if they want to survive. The series is a modern take on Lord of the Flies.
The show was led by Newton (Big Little Lies, Detective Pikachu) and also stars Gideon Adlon, Sean Berdy, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Jacques Colimon, Olivia DeJonge, Alex Fitzalan, Kristine Froseth, Jose Julian, Alexander MacNicoll, and Toby Wallace.
The end of The communityThe first season ended with an enormous cliffhanger at the end of the season finale. Allie Pressman (Newton) and her allies, primarily Will LeClair (Colimon) were in control of the dissertation for most of the season. Yet we lose the support of the Guard (essentially law enforcement of the city) because we are close. Also, the psychopathic Campbell Eliot (Wallace), influences Lexie (Grace Victoria Cox) and Harry (Fitzalan) to seize control of everything and arrest Allie and Will. Influenced by Campbell, Lexie and Harry lie and say that Allie and Will were still trying to make the election for Allie.
At the end of the final 1 of season 1, the search team that was looking for new land to use for crops returned. Most of them were allied with Allie and are confused about what the city has become. Through all this, they revealed that they had found land for them to eat.

Netflix changed course on the show, as did another YA series
All of this was shrugged off when Netflix said so The community was renewed for a season 2, it would not return as planned due to production issues related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Another YA series, I’m not okay with this, was also canceled as a result of the same issue.
“We have made the difficult decision not to move forward with second seasons of The community en I’m not okay with this, ”Netflix said in a statement. “We are disappointed to make these decisions due to circumstances created by COVID, and we are grateful to these makers, including: Jonathan Entwistle, Christy Hall, Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen and Josh Barry at 21 Laps Entertainment for I’m not okay with this; Chris Keyser, Marc Webb and Pavlina Hatoupis for The community; and all the writers, broadcasters and crews who worked tirelessly to create these shows for our members around the world. ”
What did the new season look like?
Before the show officially gets an update for season 2, its showrunner and creator Chris Keyser talks to The Hollywood Reporter about what was to come. The first season did not dive into the mechanics of how the teenager actually ended up in the parallel universe. According to Keyser, this would have been a thing in future seasons.
“My philosophy was that it is not Riverdale. It is not that these children are at home and have a lot of time to investigate a particular mystery, ”he said in part. ‘We’re planning that mystery as if this were going to be a long running series, hence the question’ Can they go home? ‘will run through the whole show. ”
The storyline of the people who gain power at the end of the episode would also play an important part in season 2. ‘ One thing is that it’s not just Lexie, it’s the triumvirate of Lexie, Harry and Campbell, and the fact that those three do not want the same things, I think that will be pretty interesting, ”he explained. “The idea of power-sharing between three people, none of whom is trusted. And I think there’s an interesting – and rather temporary – question about what happens when you give people who are completely unfit for office the chance to run, and they do it! Two of the stars of the show are talking about ending the show
Shortly after Netflix announced that the shows would not be back, Newton jumped on Instagram Live with Adlon, where they chatted about canceling.
“I just got the news this morning and I’m brainwashed, so heartbroken,” Kathryn said in an Instagram Live video alongside her co-star. “#SaveTheSociety is a global trend and I could not be bigger,” Newton said.

Adlon added, “It’s definitely a bit of an intestinal punch, but as our creator told us today, ‘Our show is there. You can watch it all the time. It does not go away and we do not go away.’ It’s a big bummer “But this is how things work sometimes. We have no control over it.”
“I can not believe how many people love our show,” Newton continued. “That thanks for seeing and falling in love with our characters.”
