Clarice Starling is back.
CBS has followed the first trailer for their upcoming play “Klarlar Rees” “The Silence the F Lambs”.
According to the network, “Claris” was founded in 1993, a year after the infamous events of the iconic novel and film.
The show “is a deep dive into the reckless personal story of Cliss Reese Starling as he returns to the field to chase serial killers and sexual predators while navigating the high political world of serial Washington, DC.”
Before cutting a woman walking in a field, a brief clip opens into the colorful forest, followed by a brief flash of a butterfly – a call to the image of “silence”.
The teaser then shows the body of a fish caught from the river.
“What do you do with all your rage?” A man’s voice asks before displaying a fast-moving montage that features weapons, newspaper headlines, crime scenes and more.
The audience gets a brief glimpse of the titular character’s silhouette and title card reading before the “cl ice res,” adds the voice, “the silence is over.”
“Silence the F-Lambs” was written by Thomas Harris and was first published in 1988 and follows FBI Special Agent Starling as he confronts the cannibal Hannibal Lecter.
A film adaptation was released in 1991 and won several awards, including five scars.
Jodie Foster received an Academy Award for her portrayal of Claris. Anthony Hopkins also won for playing Lecter, while the film also won domestic awards for Best Picture, Best Director (Jonathan Demme) and Best Writing, Screenplay based on previously produced or published material.
The novel is actually a sequel to Harris’s “Red Dragon”, which also features a lecture. 1986’s “Manhunter” and 2002’s “Red Dragon” – two films based on the novel.
Rebecca Breeds will play the title Claris on CBS’s upcoming show and will feature Marni Carpenter and Devin Tyler as Catherine Martin and Ardelia Map, respectively – both characters from the original story.
“Claris” will enter on February 11. ET on CBS at 10 p.m.
Coincidentally, Lecter also had a taste of the network primetime series TV. “Hannibal” aired on NBC for three seasons and 39 episodes between 2013 and 2015.
The series was also based on the characters in Harris’ “Red Dragon”, “Hannibal” and “Hannibal Rising” to focus on the relationship between Lecter and another FBI agent, Will Graham. The character Clarice Starling did not appear in the NBC series.
