With four events on the books in this new cycle of the 2019-20 PGA Tour season, there have been several changes to golf’s power rating. Some players have gotten stronger (literally) and have risen in rank, while others have struggled a bit on the return from golf after a prolonged layoff amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The difficult part that comes with updating golf ratings like these is determining how to rank golfers like Adam Scott, Tiger Woods, and Tommy Fleetwood, whom we haven’t seen at all and probably won’t in a few more weeks. Some of them are in the top 18 here, though none is near the top of the standings, giving more weight to players who played at least two events since returning in the middle of the pandemic.

Let’s move on to this week’s standings as highlighted by our new king, Bryson DeChambeau.

Power 18’s Golf Ratings provide insight into how golfers are currently performing, benefiting their play in recent events. It is a wider lens than simply what happened in the last tournament played, but narrower than the Official Golf World Ranking, which takes into account how more than 2,000 golfers perform in an entire season.
