Three Grand Theft Auto fans have reworked the classic San Andreas map with Unreal Engine 4, and saying it looks impressive could be an understatement, especially since Rockstar could follow up with GTA 6.
Despite the fact that GTA V and GTA Online remain incredibly popular with Grand Theft Auto fans, nostalgia for games like GTA IV, Vice City, and San Andreas remains. So much so that fans even came up with the idea of Rockstar taking all the classic maps and putting them into one for GTA 6.
While that seems pretty unlikely, it hasn’t stopped some fans from taking a turn by bringing classic maps to the present day.
A group of friends even unveiled the surprising result of their project to put GTA: San Andreas on the Unreal Engine system, and it may just ask you for a remastered version.
The amazing result comes from ArcadiaSquad Trio of Santiago Ibarra, Fabian Álvarez and Juan David Góngora who came up with the idea of redoing the original map of Los Santos de San Andreas in 2016.
However, they didn’t start their project until 2019 after solving their problem of not having the entire map to use as a base for reconstruction. “We finally managed to recreate the entire world of GTA SA in Unreal Engine and here is the result,” reads the description of his video.
Just by looking at the video, you can see how good the iconic map looks. There’s even an updated version of Grove Street featuring CJ’s house.
While the map may take your breath away, it is only in beta, as some eagle-eyed viewers will be able to spot some graphical glitches where you can see that the map is not completely polished.
However, that means the rebuilding of the trio could look really more impressive in the future and that we don’t even have to get a good look at the venues in Los Venturas. Imagine how good the airport and casinos will look after polishing.
