The new Nintendo Switch game is withdrawn from sale for NSFW content

Another Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite game will be removed from sale for NSFW content. At press time, Nintendo has only removed the game from sale on the Nintendo eShop in Japan, but there is a possibility that more regions may lose the opportunity to purchase the NSFW game. The game in question was released worldwide on Switch eShop yesterday via One-Hand-Free-Studios and Eastasiasoft and is called Waifu discovered. As you can see from the title, it’s quite inappropriate, and for some, probably quite unpleasant as well.

The aforementioned couple launch the game as a shooting game that involves undressing “eight beautiful maidens” who are “under threat of alien attack”.

“Eight beautiful maidens are under threat of alien attack,” says the tone in question. “Their lives and the destiny of the world now rest in your hands. In this simple but rewarding shooting game, take command of multiple types of ships, each balanced for a different style of play, and destroy clothing that has been deeply infected by a deadly virus. Evade and destroy enemies as they work feverishly against you, team up in multiplayer or fight bravely alone, save the girl of your dreams and maybe even unlock a convenient one-finger mode. “

These types of lewd low-quality games are quite abundant on Steam, which is still home to them. Meanwhile, these games also found their home through the PlayStation Store, but this is no longer the case. Instead, many have started turning to the Nintendo Switch. And so far, Nintendo has largely allowed games on its platform, despite its existence in the digital store in conflict with the company’s values and brand.

Waifu discovered however, it has not been so lucky and is currently not available in Japan. However, according to Eastasiasoft, a solution is being worked out that involves censoring the selected content so that the game is back in the Japanese electronic store.

If any of this feels like déjà vu, it’s because last week Nintendo removed an incredibly inappropriate game from the Nintendo Switch eShop sale. And with how open the platform is, these won’t be the last instance of launching games in the electronic store before being quickly removed.
