The new emoji for Android 11 are Peak 2020

World Emoji Day is this week, and to celebrate it, Google details the look of Android 11’s New emoji. As the title of this post suggests, there are some 2020 peak designs here, like the headstone, a pair of lungs, a toilet plunger, little blueberries that could also represent COVID-19, plus a cockroach that looks too f * cking happy to be a roach.

Don’t look so happy to be eating junk, cockroach!

However, not everything is dark and gloomy. There are also ninja emojis, some tools (saws, ladders, etc.), a boomerang, a houseplant (some variety of fern), and a kettle. As you can see, along with those bad things, there are also many good things. In total there are 117 new emoji To choose from.

These new emoji will be available this fall, so you won’t have to wait much longer to try them out.

Google also took this time to detail a new feature for the Gboard beta, which allows you to quickly access emoji. Called the Quick Access Emoji Bar, this feature is now available to Gboard beta users, which you can sign up for here.

Happy Emoji Day everyone!
