The Last of Us 2 gets permadeath, Grounded difficulty

On Monday, Naughty Dog updated the PlayStation Trophies for The Last Of Our Part 2, revealed some new modes coming to the game: permadeath options and the return of the Grounded mode from the original game.

In The last of us, Naughty Dog added the hyper-cumbersome Grounded mode after launch. This mode eliminates enemy damage, removes list mode (the tool that helps players track enemies nearby), removes the HUD, and offers in addition to no supplies scattered around the world. There are also fewer checkpoints.

It is currently unclear how similar Grounded will be in The Last Of Our Part 2. If players succeed in winning the sequel to this setting, they will earn the Dig Two Graves trophy.

According to the DLC update, players can also enable a permadeath mode The Last Of Our Part 2. In other games, permadeath suggests failure at even a single death – meaning players have to start over when they die. The You Can’t Stop This Trophy goes to players who complete the story on “any permadeath setting”, suggesting that players can apply permadeath to multiple problem types.

Players can currently access these trophies in the DLC menu for The Last Of Our Part 2 in the PlayStation 4 UI. It is currently unclear when Naughty Dog will launch these two modes.
