Elon Musk seems to have had other ideas about his offer to chat with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the clubhouse.

Last month, Kasturi tweeted on the Kremlin’s Twitter account asking if Putin would join him for a conversation on the popular app Dio. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters at the time that “undoubtedly it is a very interesting offer, but we need to know what it means, what it is proposing.”

But it appears that Musk never answered follow-up questions about the proposed chat, Bloomberg’s Ilya Arkipov and Rendra Briyakov reported Tuesday.

“Obviously there was a kind of misunderstanding. Maybe the case is tired,” Peskov told reporters, according to Bloomberg.

Clubhouse is an invitation-only social media app that was launched last year. The app is based on audio Dio-based social networking where users can join a room dedicated to discussing topics such as business or sport. In recent weeks, Clubhouse has hosted high profile users, including Mark Zuckerberg and Oprah Winfrey.

The clubhouse has raised 110 110 million from investors, including Andresin Horowitz, and is now valued at about 1 1 billion.

Kasturi is active at the clubhouse, interviewing Vlad Tanev, CEO of Robinhood, in a bizarre and extensive conversation following the Gamestop stock saga last month. Thousands of people joined in to watch the discussion, organized by a clubhouse talk show called “The Good Time Show”, which is formatted in the same way as a live podcast.

Musk also said last month that he and longtime friend Kanye would attend an interview at West Clubhouse. The host of “The Good Time Show” later tweeted that the show was working to schedule an upcoming interview with Musk and West.
