The habitual animal, the left Sweeney, will change the route to the ground on Saturday

Left Sweeney Is an animal of habit, but when the Tigers run down the mountain this Saturday before the game against Virginia, Swinney will take a different route to the sidelines.

When Clemson ran down the hill in front of Citadel in the last home game, things were different. The cheerleaders and band were on the hill instead of the field, and the playing surface of Death Valley was very empty. Swinney didn’t take notice – he was at the top of the hill and was wrapping his fist and enjoying the second day’s experience of the game.

While the cannons were roaring, Swinney went down the hill at his usual broken speed. Onlookers thought Sweeney was running toward her bodyguard, a member of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, 50-yard line. When Sweeney arrived at midfield he realized things were a little different.

That means he will change things this week.

“It is called the animal of habit. I’ll coach myself, “Swinney told TigerNet. “I just came down the hill and the kind I usually do, you run through the band, you go down there and you go to the left. Typically, I turn around and the high-five as the guys run through the band. So, I get down there and then all of a sudden I turn around and I’m on my own – there’s nobody there, and the team, like most normal people, they just move a short way to the sidelines.

“So, yes, I’ll go down the hill, but I’ll probably go a little further this way because going to 500 and then going to the left doesn’t really make sense. At least our people, they don’t believe that anything will make sense. So, we will do it, and it will be fun. “

Clemson is with Virginia on Saturday night at 8pm (ACC Network), and despite the low number of fans in the stands, there is another chance to play a night game in Death Valley. The Tigers host Miami a week later (7:30 p.m.) with a matchup of the top-10 teams.

“It’s going to be awesome,” Swinney said. “Looks like we’ll take a few night games along the way. But regardless of any game (time), I’m just excited. They can tell us we play at 10am and I would be just as excited. But it would be nice. That would be nice. It will be a great atmosphere, primetime, all sorts of things. Whatever our fans may be interested in, I know it will be in the stands, it is definite and very exciting.

“So, it will be fun, it will be fun to look forward to it. We already had a night game at Wake, but there was none. So, this will be a slightly different environment for us, and in this environment and in this world in which we are working, it will probably be as good as you can expect. So, it will be fun for our boys. ”
