A Galaxy Note-like camera bump on the back
Originally posted on Weibo and then shared by Ishan Agarwal on Twitter, the render in question reveals that Samsung has decided to unify the design language of the Galaxy Note series and the Galaxy Z Fold range by adopting seemingly identical camera modules on the back of both. .
These include a 12-megapixel main camera that’s paired with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shutter release and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens that supports 3x hybrid zoom thanks to digital cropping.
The external display is much, much bigger.
As previously reported, the Galaxy Z Fold 2’s external display is much larger than the panel found on the original device. In fact, it has grown from 4.3 inches to 6.23 inches thanks to a new aspect ratio designed to reduce the bezels as much as possible.
That dramatic change, along with the introduction of a new drill hole for the 10-megapixel front camera, is corroborated by the aforementioned press rendering. Therefore, the external display of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 should be much more useful.
The South Korean company is believed to have also made some changes to the larger internal display. That is, it has seen an increase in size from 7.3 inches to 7.7 inches and has abandoned the corner notch in favor of a more subtle punching technology used for the second 10 megapixel selfie shooter.
The former cannot be corroborated simply by looking at the renderings of the press, however there does not appear to be any sign of a notch in the raised corner on the screen making the presence of a drilled hole very likely.
Another report backed by the press release is the lack of S Pen support.
Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Watch 3 also leaked
Preorders for the entire line are expected to start shortly after the event, but the products won’t launch at the same time. The Galaxy Note 20 series should begin shipping on Friday, August 21, while those hoping to have the Galaxy Z Fold 2 will have to wait until Sunday, September 20.
