The Google Store marks the company’s birthday in some countries


Google was first included on September 4, 1998, but the company marked the occasion on September 27. Like last year, Google stores around the world are celebrating the 22nd birthday with discounts and various offers.

Update: For Europe, promo code GOOGLEBDAY22 is entered at checkout when Google Store offers 22% birthday discount on selected items. These items are excluded (in the UK): Pixel 4A, Pixel Buds, Pixelbook Go and Nest Aware. It applies to:

Nest Hub Max, Nest WiFi, Chromecast, Nest Hub, Nest Mini, Stadia Premier Edition, Nest Protect, Nest Cam IQ, Nest Cam Outdoor, Nest Cam Indoor

Similar deals are live in Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Norway, the Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, Germany, France, Finland, Denmark, Belgium and Riyadh. Offer expires on 27 September 2020 at 11:59 BST. It does not appear to be available in Portugal.


Australia In Australia, you can get 22% Google Store credit when you buy “Nest WiFi, Nest Mini, Nest Hub Max, Nest Hub, Chromecast, Chromecast Ultra or Google Home.” Prices for these smart home products vary otherwise and the deal is available until 11:59 pm on 28 September 2020.

Customers will receive an email 3 weeks after the date of the store order shipment, informing them that Google Store Credit will be added to their account.

This offer is also available in Japan. Meanwhile, the following Asian countries will see direct discounts:

  • In South Korea, you get a 20% discount on Nest Hub and Home Mini
  • In Singapore, there is 22% discount on Nest Mini, Nest WiFi, Nest Hub, Chromecast
  • In Taiwan 22% discount applies to Nest Mini and Chromecast

No offers are available on the following Asia Pacific Google stores: Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines and Thailand.

These deals are not usually available in the United States, which had its own monthly deals this summer.
