The former North Korean gymnast says he jumped a 10-foot fence

According to reports, the former North Korean gymnast claims that he jumped over a barbed-wire fence about 10 feet high to create security breaches in the South.

The Korea Herald said that after crossing the heavily fortified demilitarized zone (DMZ), Seoul’s defense officials have launched an investigation into the unidentified defector.

The report said the man was in his 20s and did not use his exercise training to search over the fence.

To get to the DMZ, he had to get a 10-foot-high fence with land mines on both sides, according to United Press International, citing local reports.

Reports say the fence has been cut or not improved, and investigators believe his story is that he used his exercise skills to get around, reports said.

He was spotted by South Korean surveillance cameras at least twice when he looked near the fence – but managed to reach the area despite heavy warnings with extra troops flooding the area, the Yonhap News Service said. That, the ongoing investigation began. Explicit failure.

The agency said he was taken about 10 miles from the fence until Nov. 3.

He was unarmed and told South Korean officials he wanted to take advantage of the ruthless rule of the Hermitage Kingdom, the report said.
