The Damian Lillard vs. Paul George / Patrick Beverley beef takes to Instagram after Trail Blazers lost to Clippers

The Damian Lillard vs. Paul George and Patrick Beverley beef made its way from the basketball court to social media shortly after Lillard’s Portland Trail Blazers blew up a winning game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.

Much to the delight of the Clippers’ George and Beverley, Lillard missed two free throws and a three-point attempt in the final 45 seconds of a 122-117 Los Angeles victory.

After the game, Beverley waited by-bye to Lillard in the same way he weaved by-bye to George and Oklahoma City after hitting a three-point basket in Game 6 of a first-round series over the Thunder in 2019.

After Saturday’s game, Lillard was asked about the reaction George and Beverley had to his failure at the end of Saturday’s game. Lillard responded by reminding the world that he had sent both Beverly and George home with playoff defeats.

As for Beverley, Lillard referred to 2014, when his game-winning three-pointer in Game 6 against Houston ended the first round. Beverley played for Houston at the time.

Bleacher Report made a mother of Lillard and one of his quotes about George and Lillard and posted it on her Instagram account. That allowed George and Beverley to respond in the comments section of that post.

Beverley (patbev21) commented: “Cancun on 3 😂😂😂”

Paul George commented: “And you will be sent home this year 🤣 respect ✊🏾”

Lillard then clapped back to George, commenting: ‘keep changing teams … run from the gravel. you guys are chumps ”

George began his career in Indiana before being traded to Oklahoma City in 2017. The Thunder traded George to the Clippers last year.

George did not take Lillard’s remarks too kindly and said that he had run a more successful run at his first stop (Indiana) than Lillard had in Portland.

No, none of this is very mediocre.

But it provides great theater. Too bad we probably won’t get a Blazers-Clippers playoff series this year.
