A Chicago man who suffered from hiccups for several days was found to have coronavirus, prompting doctors to issue a warning that hiccups could be a new symptom of the disease.

“Here we present a case of persistent hiccups as the present symptom of a Covid-19 infection in a 62-year-old man,” according to a report published in the American Journal of Emergency Medicinee.

The man, who had been sick for four days, showed no other symptoms of the disease.
