The boxing world reacts to Jarell Miller’s latest “disappointment” – Boxing News

The boxing world is still trying to accept the news that came out yesterday informing us how heavyweight contender (or former heavyweight contender) Jarrell Miller had failed another drug test. Shameful is an appropriate word, but “disappointed” seems to be the word. Bob Arum spoke to RingTV.com and the 88-year-old promoter whose Top Rank group had hired Miller said “we are extremely disappointed.”

Dmitry Salita, co-promoter of “Big Baby”, also used the D word when speaking to Sky Sports. But the man who is entitled to feel the most disappointed is Jerry Forrest, who would have fought Miller in a great fight opportunity on July 9. Forrest must be almost gutted right now. However, there may be some good news for Forrest. Reports say there is a good chance that Forrest will continue to fight on July 9, against solid former world title challenger Carlos Takam.

Who knows, Forrest vs. Takam could turn out to be a very good fight, with both men looking to make the most of their opportunity on a fairly large stage. For now, though, all that is talked about, all anger, all disgust centers on Miller. “Big Baby” has really exploited it this time. Five times in total now during his combat career, the New Yorker has been arrested for taking illegal stimulants. Fans have simply had enough.

“Obviously we are extremely disappointed,” said Arum. “I spoke to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, and they confirmed that Miller tested positive for a substance that had already tested positive for a year.”

Miller, apparently, cannot learn his lesson. Perhaps Miller’s victory in the November 2018 stoppage over Bogdan Dinu will prove to be his last appearance in the ring. Most fans who have expressed an opinion on this topic seem to think that this should be the case. What defense can Miller present this time? Are you ready to hear something coming out of Miller’s mouth?
