Cameras have become a marquee feature for smartphones, the quality is getting closer with fairly good standalone digital cameras.
Fox News has compiled a roundup of the best camera smartphones.
IPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
In addition to being Apple’s first phones with 5G (on all iPhone 12 models), the 6.1-inch Pro and 6.7-inch Pro Max come with three camera systems on the back: an ultra-wide camera camera, a wide camera camera and a telephoto lens.

The wide camera on the iPhone 12 Pro Max features a sensor 47% larger than the iPhone 12 Pro, resulting in improved low light conditions. The iPhone Pro Max has a total x x zoom range compared to the Pro 4x.
Both iPhones have LIDAR sensors for taking more low-light photos. Other upsides are fixed in Smart HDR, which automatically adjusts the exposure to create the best possible image, and Apple’s new Prora photo file.
Both phones have received “best smartphone camera” ratings from several major review sites, including customer reports.
Samsung Galaxy S20
The high-end S20 Ultra has a spec that comes out: a 108MP camera that can give amazing details. It also has a 100x zoom, which is a combination of icicle and digital zoom.
But it’s not as impressive as it sounds, because with digital zoom you can lose image quality at great distances. Aside from the 100x zoom that gets attention, the “original” optical zoom is 4x on the telephoto lens. All S20 phones capture video in 8K resolution, the future of video.
For most, a cheaper Galaxy S20 may suffice. “We’ve got all the cameras working brilliantly, and if you’re shooting in automatic mode, you’re sure to be impressed with the results,” Tecrader said of the less expensive S20.
Google Pixel 5
This is Buck for the Buck Cook Mero. It is a cheaper phone compared to the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra in 699, but its camera is better for a large number of customers. It has a dual 12.2 MP rear camera and a 16 MP ultra-wide camera.
“But it’s the software that really enhances this camera,” according to Digital Camera World.
Huawei Mate P40 Pro
The China-based Huawei P40 Pro is among the top smartphone cameras by the widely cited DXOmark, embracing the iPhone 12 Pro Max. One of the standout specs of the P40 Pro has a 10x optical zoom lens, which goes through the 4x optical zoom of the Samsung S20 Ultra. According to DXOMark’s review, the P40 Pro achieves an excellent DXOMark camera score … as it is one of the best or very best devices we have tested to date in almost all categories.
However, the Huawei phone has a sticky problem that keeps it from the top of many lists. The Chinese tech giant has been banned from sending Google apps and services by the US government over allegations that the US used its devices for espionage.
