HP has a wide variety of Chromebooks that will be released in the coming months if you consider what they announced the first week of May. At that virtual event, one fully geared towards the business sector, HP announced a robust low-end Chromebook in the 14 G6, a high-end Comet Lake Chromebook in the Pro C640 (available later this month), and a monster device that’s not. It will be available until August in the Elite C1030. Until now, the prices and availability of these devices have been mixed, and if history is a guide, they’ll all be priced much higher than most consumers are willing to pay.
However, somewhere in the middle of all that, HP also updated its hugely popular Chromebook x360. The old HP Chromebook x360 14 was one of our favorites in that generation. Launched alongside the Dell Inspiron Chromebook 14 and Lenovo Yoga Chromebook C630, the x360 was a revelation in the Chrome OS space with its eye-catching design, excellent keyboard, and fantastic glass touchpad. These devices represented a huge change in the Chromebook world, and along with the Acer Spin 713 update, we are excited to see an updated version in 2020. Gabriel has already described everything that will come to the table with this one. , but Here’s a quick update.

HP Chromebook x360 now available from Best Buy
Right now at Best Buy, you can hook up the new x360 14c for $ 629, and anyone with a student at home can save $ 100. of that price too. When we first reported on the arrival of this Chromebook in June, the listing was live at Best Buy, but I still couldn’t buy it. Over the weekend, it appears that the device has been made available and we are already listening to readers who have given it a spin and the response is quite good.
At $ 629, you’ll obviously have to offer a great experience. With Acer’s excellent Chromebook Spin 713 at this exact price, there is already fierce competition. However, what we know from HP is the fact that they never had any qualms about letting the original x360 14 go on sale regularly. It was never out of the ordinary to see that device for sale for $ 150- $ 200 off the MSRP. With online availability for this and a $ 100 student discount already in play, I hope the x360 14c will follow in the footsteps of its older brother.
Devices like the Lenovo Chromebook Chrome 5 Flex and the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 are creating new expectations of what we should be getting for certain price points in the Chrome OS ecosystem. There will have to be some definitive updates for HP over the original x360 14 if this new iteration is to compete in this price range. We will have our hands very soon, so we will definitely let you know how it accumulates as soon as you are in the office. For now, if you are interested, you can get one of yours right now. Don’t forget to set up your account to include student discounts if you have not already done so (assuming you are legitimately eligible, of course). ->
