Robert Pattinson recently revealed the details of his audition The Batman. Unlike most audition stories, this one sees the actor trying to outsmart his thread Tenet managing director, Christopher Nolan since Pattinson filmed the delayed feature Warner Bros. when The Batman auditions came round. To read Pattinson’s words is true sympathy to know, because the actor’s game plan for sneaking away from set must be very true for those of us who were looking for a new job while we were still at our old job were.

In a recent Irish Times interview linked to his involvement with Tenet, Recalls Pattinson’s audition process for The Batman. The actor had secured an audition slot for Matt Reeves upcoming Batman reboot at Warner Bros. and, as Pattinson puts it, it seems like he was pretty freakin ‘to try out for the title role. The only problem? Try to find a way to tell Nolan, a man who also directed a successful trio of Batman movies for Warner Bros., a believable excuse that Tenet set without raising eyebrows. Apparently, that’s easier said than done. According to Pattinson:

‘It’s funny because Chris is so secretive about everything to do with his movies. And then I had to be really secretive about Batman things. That I had to lie to Chris about having to go for a screen test – I said I had a family need. And as soon as I said ‘It’s a domestic emergency’, he said, ‘You do it Batman audition, aren’t you? ‘”

Not Robert Pattinson is trying to use the oldest trick in the book! Come, my servant. You can not draw anyone over Nolan. he is the troublesome; not you!

Pattison’s anecdotes do not stop with his somewhat lame audition story. Return the focus back to its time on Tenet (and without giving too much away) Pattinson opened up about the physical challenges of working alongside Tenet lead John David Washington, a former NFL player.

‘When I walk on screen, I’m generally a couple with John David [Washington] who is an ex-NFL player, so it was the most unfair thing in the world. The maximum training I do most of the time is a casual walk. John David can run all day. It was good that I was finally fit. But absolutely, in the beginning, there were days when I just could not keep up. ”

Just amazing.

These Pattinson anecdotes feel like a shot of life in the conversations around both Tenet en The Batman. When it comes down to it Tenet, Warner Bros. announced plans to release the film first in international markets and delay US release, eventually opening in select cities domestically. As before The Batman, Pattinson and his teammates are expected to make an appearance at the DC FanDome event on August 22 to discuss their film.
