The announcement stated that at 4:00 am today (November 14, 2020), Typhoon “Ho Mok” (a Category 5 storm) in the center of the South China Sea is centered east of Da Nang . Vietnam is about 400 kilometers or 15.7 degrees north latitude, 111.9 degrees east longitude, the maximum wind speed near the center is about 160 kilometers per hour.
The storm is moving west at a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour. It is expected to move to Vietnam around November 15, 2020, after which it will weaken accordingly.
