Through which the Cabinet passed a resolution on April 7, 2020 ratifying its entry into the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, 1968, which resulted in Thailand having to implement the implementation of the aforementioned Convention on the Issuance of a Permit driving in accordance with an international agreement. At present, the announcement of the Department of Land Transport has not yet established a driving license form of the Convention on Road Traffic, made in Vienna, 1968.
Therefore, to designate a driver’s license under automobile law to be complete, correct and appropriate and cover a driver’s license in accordance with an international agreement of which Thailand is a partner. In accordance with the 1968 Road Traffic Convention, pursuant to Article 13 of the Ministerial Regulation on the application and issuance of driving licenses and renewal of driving licenses, BE2020, the Director General of the Department of Land Transport prescribes the form of driving license as follows
Clause 1: The announcement of the Department of Land Transportation Re: Designation of the driver’s license under the Automobile Law, BE2560 (2017) announced on August 30, 2017.
Clause 2 Temporary Personal Vehicle Driver License Temporary Personal Tricycle License Temporary Personal Motorcycle Driver License Personal Driver License Personal Tricycle Driver License Personal Motorcycle Driver License Public Vehicle Driver Public Tricycle License Public motorcycle driver’s license Steamroller’s driver’s license Tractor’s driver’s license AND other types of driver’s licenses under Section 43 (9) Lifetime personal driver’s license Lifetime personal tricycle license OR a driver’s license of motorcycle for life Please use the license form issued by the computer system attached to this notice.
Article 3 A driving license under an international agreement to which Thailand is a party shall conform to the form prescribed in the Geneva Road Convention, 1949.
Article 4 The driver’s license under an international agreement to which Thailand is a party shall be in accordance with the form prescribed in the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic.
Clause 5 The licenses issued before this announcement come into force. They will continue to be used until the expiration date. Announced on January 29, 2021 Jirut Wisarnchit, Director General of the Department of Land Transportation.
