October 10, 2020 – Dr. Trairong Suwankiri, Former Deputy Prime Minister Has posted a message via Facebook with the following details
Forcing or controlling yourself against political meetings
Than Panya Nanthaphikkhu (Author’s Preceptor) has been taught that “People who are not weak Have that strength It must be someone who knows that the sacrifice (Jaka) is the sacrifice that will not satisfy the desire. What is it that is considered bad, not good, not cheap, not useful, not useful? This is the meaning of the word “sacrifice” or “Jaka” in the language of the Dharma.
But this sacrifice (Jaka) will not be there. If we do not have the patience called “tolerance”, then self-control is the basis of selflessness. Because human nature is often susceptible to the feeling of wanting to do things that are “low” because bad things are easy to do, like yearning, wanting to be, a feeling that is based on the spirit of an animal. Possessed in us above Only patience (patience) can overcome it. Whenever there is a feeling of greed, anger and illusion, you must be patient (patience) not to do anything according to that feeling. Lord Buddha called not to indulge in this feeling. “Doing Atamyata”, Master Buddhadasa Bhikkhu has translated this word in Thai simply as “I am not taking it”, so we can do it. We must have a high level of tolerance. Because it is a fight against the power of the low that will bring us down. If we do not have a high tolerance, it will be difficult or impossible to resist.
But tolerance (patience) may not be able to last for long. He may be able to do it only temporarily and then be defeated by the lower powers. Khanti can only last so long if you want it to last longer. We have to have another Dharma to control our mind at all times. That Dharma is called “Self-control” or “Tama”, which can easily control tolerance (tolerance), that is, we have to force our mind to be in a consistent state, that is, to control our own mind. Allow “Khanti” to escape the mind to prevent the mind from flowing into the lower power of the brute’s desires.
That we will be able to control ourselves as mentioned in point 3. That Master Panya Nanthaphikkhu suggested that We have to use many things as a tool, which I will use to describe the language as follows.
To control the morality of the various prophets, if they are Buddhists, the morality of the Buddha will be applied to them. To show that we are the disciples that we have “truth” for our Prophet. (Or our God) because the moral principles of all religions are a good thing, like the moral principles of the Buddha in Buddhism can be used as a solid guarantee to live in a morality. Able to prevent the act of evil in 3 ways, that is, there will be no corrupt body, corrupt conscience, and corrupt speech. (He is not telling lies He is not speaking to cause disunity among people Do not speak rudely Do not speak with your own idioms although Without tests and without rules)
Apply the custom to self-control, as a tradition that has been handed down since ancient times, which cannot or should not be done. We must force ourselves not to. (At least if we do not follow because we do not agree We should not make fun of others who follow, that is, we do not threaten the freedom of others in this matter. So we can call it a truly democratic mind), for example, traditions traditional Thai from that time. We will give respect to the old man. Because we see that you have been through the world more than we have.
You have helped us to generate national income (GDP) for us to consume when we have not been able to generate anything for GDP at all, that is why we are in debt to the elderly. We should respect you. The old man himself will give young people love and compassion. They are ready to forgive when they make mistakes because they are inexperienced and ready to give you light guidance. This is the Thai custom. The western countries that we see are more advanced than us many times do not have this custom. Because they measure the value of people by the amount of money in the bank that has more. Those who are less will respect those who have more. Even if the largest of the latter is less than the former. We must not assume the customs of other nations. This is used in Thai society if you still want to live with Thai people in Thai society. Otherwise we will be in difficulties. It is impossible to live in a peaceful and prosperous society.
Put the law into force. If prohibited by law, the majority of the country’s population should be considered prohibited because the law was established by the National Assembly made up of representatives of the Thai people throughout Thailand. (Although not all) if we are not afraid of the law Dare to violate what the law prohibits in prison schedules, and the ruin of life will eventually creep into us.
Ajarn Panya Nanthaphikkhu said “Learn to force yourself often. You will become a disciplined person, the national base of the country of progress. What can people do without discipline? Any society has no discipline The society is weak It will be difficult to build a nation , make a country progress “.
“Having children and grandchildren should teach you to force yourself not to do what you want, to want to teach them and remind them that it is not right, wrong, not as if it should not be done. That child will then get used to controlling himself. “
If your child is going to a political gathering, then the 3 principles of Panya Nanthaphikkhu should train him first. He would have the conscience not to parade after some unjust leaders or parents had not trained.
Don’t let anyone scold you for our children. “Ai, a son or a child whose parents do not teach” last sentence, it is I who spoke on my own Not a word from Than Panya Nanthaphikkhu or Buddhadasa Bhikkhu I do not understand, confused. May the Dharma protect everyone so that they have happiness and prosperity.
