Tesla is rumored to have a number of changes to the Model 3, including a new center console, steering wheel, heat pump add-ons and more, according to a well-known Chinese liquor.
While Tesla’s Model Y is based on the same platform as the Model 3, it is in many ways a better electric vehicle than the Model 3.
The automaker implemented many improvements to the electric SUV based on what it learned from the old electric sedan.
Big, Model 3 isn’t exactly old.
Tesla first started Model 3 delivery slowly in 2017, but volume delivery did not begin until 2018.
It’s a little early to refresh, but some of the technology introduced by the automaker in electric SUVs this year isn’t going to make it to Tesla’s best-selling vehicle, the Model Y.
Well known Chinese liqueur has shared alleged new updates coming soon in Tesla’s in-China Made-in 3:
- New steering wheel
- Center Console 2.0
- New headlights and flashlights
- Powered trunk gate
- Delete Chrome
- Octavlev and heat pump
- New windows with double pen
The change is believed to be coming in Tesla’s Model 3 vehicles, which are being built at the Fremont factory, which supplies the Model 3 vehicles to all other markets outside of China.
While there is still only one rumor, some of these updates are very meaningful.
Tesla recently updated the Model 3’s Frank and it is rumored that Tesla is expected to make space to install its new Octavlev and heat pump, which Tesla first introduced in the Model Y.
Along with the Frank update, Tesla was also rumored to be updating the Model 3 headlights and adding a power trunk gate.
The Model Y is already equipped with a power gate and Tesla recently updated the taillights of the electric SUV.
Deleting Chrome also comes on the basis of a planned update Tesla, also submitted to Chinese authorities.
Tesla U.S. The Model 3 vehicles manufactured in China have recently been known to transform into Model 3 vehicles before introducing similar modifications.
Earlier this year, Tesla upgraded Model 3 vehicles in China with new wireless phone chargers and USB-C ports, and a month later, we saw similar features in the Model 3 built at the Fremont factory.
Take the electric
While that’s an existing rumor, most of it makes a lot of sense to me.
Especially the things we’ve heard before or that are already on the Model Dell Y, such as headlights and taillights, a power trunk gate, a chrome delete and a heat pump.
Others are more surprising.
It is not clear whether by “center console” they refer to the center screen unit or the storage system between the seats.
Many people use the term to refer to both.
I don’t want to raise anyone’s hopes, but I hope the new steering wheel is a better sensor for hand detection. It will be a game changer.
The new windows will improve cabin noise and isolation, which Elon mentions they’ve been working on lately so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s true.
