Tesla Model 3 beats Jamie Foxx: “Hi there, Elon!”

The Tesla Model 3 Performance has made many people skeptical of electric vehicles true believers in the sustainable transport movement. The unique design, coupled with world-class performance specs, instant torque, and autopilot capability change the minds of skeptics almost instantly. Actor, comedian, and songwriter Jamie Foxx is the newest skeptic who became a Tesla believer.

A friend who owns a Model 3 Performance wanted Foxx to drive in the all-electric power station to convince the funny man to join the Tesla revolution. “As you can see, my son has been trying to take me to a Tesla, so he will let me ride his journey.”

Foxx was born in Texas and admits that he has always thought that noisy combustion engines were a trademark of being Texans. “Just being from Texas, I always thought the roar of an engine was what I needed,” Foxx jokes during a video he posted on his YouTube channel. “It just makes me feel macho.”

Now Texas is transitioning to a different type of speed and power, and the electric vehicle is what might be considered the “strong and quiet type” because its performance is quiet, but robust. Electric cars may not sound big and muscular like some of the classic muscle cars and big trucks that many people use for the commute, but the Model 3 Performance does its “talking” on the road where speed and instant acceleration they tend to leave competition in the dust.

The Model 3 Performance is powered by a 75 kWh lithium-ion battery and two fully electric motors that give the car a time of 2.9 seconds 0-60 MPH. The vehicle has an EPA rating range of 299 miles and a top speed of 162 MPH.

Texas is known for having bigger things, hence the classic saying, “Everything is bigger in Texas.” Although Alaska is the largest state in the country, Texas has a reputation for doing great things. In fact, Chevrolet made a “Texas Edition” for its Silverado, which features bigger wheels, an elite sound system, and premium features.

However, the loud roar and impressive speed of a gasoline powered car were not enough to keep Foxx from enjoying his time with the Model 3 Performance. The test drive allowed the actor famous for his roles in Django Unleashed and law abiding citizen feel the speed and acceleration of the all-electric sedan. Foxx also had a chance to experience the Tesla autopilot.

Throughout the hilarious interview and test drive, Foxx made a series of impressions from both Dr. Phil and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and spoke highly of Tesla CEO Elon Musk as well.

When asked if he had met Musk in person, Foxx said he saw the Tesla leader in the distance at a dinner party. “He has a very different head. You could tell it was going to be great because his head is built differently, “he joked.

Overall, Foxx’s experience with the Model 3 Performance will be one he won’t soon forget. It is unknown whether he will end up buying Tesla’s most popular vehicle, but he didn’t miss out on the “macho” feeling he’s used to with his noisy gas-powered cars.

“I felt macho, I felt I was in control and, at the same time, I felt elegant. It felt good, but seeing all those gasoline cars, I know they have a problem. And Tesla is the TUMS of automobiles. You know why? Get rid of the gas! Hello to me, Elon!
