Tesla is now using precast methods to speed up construction of new factories

Elon Musk confirmed that Tesla is now using some precast construction methods to speed up the construction of its new factories.

While Tesla was focusing on its goal of accelerating electric vehicle production, it found that it needs to look at “the machine that builds the machine,” also known as the factory.

The automaker has increasingly focused its manufacturing efforts to accelerate its production of new cars.

One way to do this is by quickly building new manufacturing facilities.

Tesla went from a single factory in California to operate 3 major factories worldwide and have two massive factories currently under construction.

Gigafactory Shanghai was particularly impressive in moving from land to vehicle factory in less than a year.

Tesla is currently expanding the factory in preparation for the start of production of the Model Y.

Currently, the automaker is also building Gigafactory Berlin from scratch and the new factory is expected to offer the best manufacturing technology that Tesla has developed in recent years.

But the construction of the new plant itself is also interesting.

After some regulatory issues and the COVID-19 pandemic that slowed the project, Tesla started construction a few months ago, and now things are moving fast.

A new drone video shows that Tesla already has walls on the site:

Commenting on the rapid progress on the site last night, CEO Elon Musk said Tesla is using a “precast construction method”:

“Giga Berlin will join at an apparently impossible speed. The precast construction method in Germany is extremely impressive. ”

Precast construction has gained a lot of momentum in recent decades.

It is primarily known for its use in the residential construction industry, but is now becoming more common in commercial and even industrial construction projects.

It involves making parts of a new building off-site at a factory using manufacturing methods rather than construction processes to produce sections that are easier to assemble, reducing construction time and labor.

Therefore, it could be said that they are building a new factory that is built (at least in part) in a factory.
