The decision to pre-sell the “full self-driving” package in its vehicles has been controversial, at least before the software was planned to make the technology available.
It’s a bold move by Tesla that has been criticized for a number of reasons.
Some say it confuses consumers by thinking that Tesla vehicles are currently capable of self-driving, which is not the case.
Despite not offering the promised features in the package, others also criticized Tesla for making frequent and downward price changes.
Over the past year, CEO Elon Musk has clarified Tesla’s pricing strategy when it comes to the “full self-driving” package: Tesla will increase the price of the package as it introduces new features.
In July, the $ 1000 price increased by $ 8,000.

Electric’s Seth Weintraub, who had healthy doubts about Tesla’s ability to deliver a complete self-driving system, is tempted to pull the trigger after seeing the first appearance of the beta update.
