Tesla denies reports of layoffs of workers who chose to stay home to avoid the risk of coronavirus at the Elon Musk / Boing Boing factory

On Thursday, Tesla denied media reports that fired employees who chose to stay home during the coronavirus pandemic, instead of exposing themselves to possible infection at the Elon Musk factory in California.

In a blog post today, “The Tesla Team” says it gave up the company’s attendance policy for several weeks after getting approval to reopen factories, and offered employees “a period of time to stay home. no questions”.

The Washington Post reported yesterday that three Tesla employees were fired after they decided to stay at the Fremont, California factory home. Tesla denies it today.
